Offenders Boot Camp Death case?

If you have been following the case of the 14 year old boy that died from sickle cell disease performing the strenuous exercises forced by the boot camp he was sentenced to endure by the court system, what is your opinion of it? The family of this boy is suing the 7 boot camp officials and the nurse of this particular boot camp for this child%26#039;s death. The boot camp was not notified of this child%26#039;s disease and when he was dying they thought he was crying wolf ( so to speak) as many people claim to be feeling ill when they are being pushed.

Don%26#039;t you think the court that sentenced that child to boot camp should be the ones on trial? Shouldn%26#039;t a law be passed that someone%26#039;s health record should ALWAYS be considered when sentencing an offender?

These people are going to have to live with the idea that they pushed this child to his death and the parents are never going to get their son back. Shouldn%26#039;t the court be on trial for failing this child?

Offenders Boot Camp Death case?
While it may have been the courts who sentenced this young man, ultimately the life of the young man fell into the hands of the employees of the boot camp.

It was the boot camp employee%26#039;s responsibility to ensure the young man received proper medical treatment.

The hoot about these cases is that these %26quot;boot camps%26quot; typically go unregulated by the Federal and even state Governments.
Reply:If it was my child, I would have made sure that everyone knew. But then, my child wouldn%26#039;t have been in boot camp in the first place.

I do feel sorry for the family but don%26#039;t we have to take responsibility for our own actions, at some stage?
Reply:Boot camp is very good for degenrate children and some times the only way to straighten them out, but wht happened in flordia is straight abuse, regaurdless of wether or not they knew about the desease covering the boys mouth and kicking him while forcing him to take amonia pills is definatly illegal and moraly wrong. thoes people should be punished maybe not for murder, but they definatly contrubuited to his death.
Reply:I think captors need to take civil responsibility for their charges. If you%26#039;re going to detain someone, then you need to ensure their health and safety.

Remember, the punishment is the time lost, not the unauthorized abuses suffered while incarcerated.
Reply:The parents of the kid should have disclosed is entire health history to the court and the camp should have made sure that the kid was not truly sick when he was claiming to be. But, in our current litigious society, I think the parents are just looking for some MONEY.
